Package: nget
Version: 0.27-3
Severity: wishlist

When I'm downloading large, multipart binary posts, I often start to get
them while they're still being uploaded. It often happens that my first
nget run ends with no more headers to grab, although the post isn't
fully downloaded. So I have to come back later and rerun nget several
times, or else wait until the whole post has been uploaded before I
start to download.

In fact, what I do in these situations is to run something like

while true ; do
      nget ...
      echo "sleeping for 10 minutes..."
      sleep 10m
done

It would be nifty if nget included a parameter to do this itself. For
example, if I called

nget --repeat=10m ...

then nget might work like this:

- if autopar is enabled, then nget would sleep and then repeat every 10
minutes, until enough parts had been downloaded to complete the post(s).
Then it would exit.

- if noautopar is enabled, then nget would repeat every 10 minutes until
interrupted by the user.

By the way, thanks for making nget. I like it. That's why I keep filing
wishlist bug reports against it!
Andrew.
