Subject: horde2: horde2 + postgresql woes
To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
X-Mailer: bug 3.3.10.1
Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Package: horde2
Version: 2.1-2
Severity: important

During the installations of horde2/imp3 with a postgresql backend, the
script creates the following line at the end of pg_hda.conf:

host horde2 127.0.0.1 255.0.0.0 password

That would allow it (and imp3, and turba, I believe) to connect to the
horde2 db.

My (previously virgin) postgresql had the following line already
present:

local all ident sameuser

It seems to me that, since this line came before the one added by
horde2, it takes precedence. So, I had to change the order (and
restart postgresql) to get it to work (this causes other problems with
postgresql installation, though, but that it beyond the scope of this
bug).

The worst part is that the horde2/imp3/turba installation finished
without a hint that a problem had occurred, but, because they could
not log into the DB, some very important configuration files were not
created, and then imp and horde would simply fail with very weird
error messages, and no debug to help me figure out what was going
on. It was only by trial and error that I came to reinstall everything
after changing the pg_hda.conf by hand. Only then imp and turba
prompted me for the password while configuring, and copied all the
conf files properly.

We believe that the bug you reported is now fixed; the following
package(s) have been removed from unstable:

    horde2 | 2.2.9-1 | source, all
      imp3 | 3.2.8-3 | source, all
 kronolith | 1.1.4-4 | source, all
     mnemo | 1.1.4-1 | source, all
       nag | 1.1.3-1 | source, all
sork-accounts | 2.1.2-2 | source, all
sork-forwards | 2.2.2-2 | source, all
sork-passwd | 2.2.2-2 | source, all
sork-vacation | 2.2.2-3 | source, all
     turba | 1.2.5-3 | source, all

Note that the package(s) have simply been removed from the tag
database and may (or may not) still be in the pool; this is not a bug.
The package(s) will be physically removed automatically when no suite
references them (and in the case of source, when no binary references
it). Please also remember that the changes have been done on the
master archive (ftp-master.debian.org) and will not propagate to any
mirrors (ftp.debian.org included) until the next cron.daily run at the
earliest.

Packages are never removed from testing by hand. Testing tracks
unstable and will automatically remove packages which were removed
from unstable when removing them from testing causes no dependency
problems.

Bugs which have been reported against this package are not automatically
removed from the Bug Tracking System. Please check all open bugs and
close them or re-assign them to another package if the removed package
was superseded by another one.

Thank you for reporting the bug, which will now be closed. If you
have further comments please address them to [EMAIL PROTECTED]
