Reproduction:
Open Thuban. (Creating a new session and/or adding layers will not
affect this bug...it happens regardless of layers.)
On the "Map" menu, choose "Projection."
Select any projection (e.g. Belgian Datum 1972--this also happens when
defining a new datum from scratch.)
Click "Try" or "OK"
