I cannot tell if this is specific to particular touchapd model or it is more general problem, nor how widespread this particular touchpad is. I heared somebody else complaining about the problem so it is not specific to my system (it was the same touchpad firmware but a different Dell laptop model). tpconfig -x -t0 says tapping is disabled but the touchpad still generates clicks. Enabling and disabling tapping does not help either. In fact, setting the t option to non-zero still says "no tapping gestures". Using a Linux kernel compiled from the Debian sources.
