Comments/Problems:
Floppy support and makedev were not installed (the system has a standard
post 1991 3.5" floppy drive which worked in i386 which used 2.6.8-11 as
well):
nemo:/# mount /media/floppy0
mount: you must specify the filesystem type
nemo:/# mount -t vfat /dev/fd0 /media/floppy0
mount: special device /dev/fd0 does not exist
nemo:/# makedev /dev/fd0
bash: makedev: command not found
Also, the desktop screen resolution is 800x600, when during install selected
the "nv" driver and [EMAIL PROTECTED] for LCD (selected "middle" option). Options
available in "Desktop Preferences/Screen Resolution" are just 800x600 and
640x480.

"modprobe floppy" will probably help here.

Well, X configuration actually does not pertain to the installer
per se. I suggest reporting potential issues to the xserver-xorg
package.
Given that your installation was a complete success, I do as
usual with reports for successful installations: I close the bug..:-)
This does not of course mean you weren't right to report. Knowing the
installations are correct is important for the d-i team.
Many thanks for your time testing the Debian Installer and reporting
your results. Have fun with your new Debian system!
