Package: orpie
Version: 1.4.3-1
Severity: wishlist
Orpie is a great calculator but I am low on disk space. If there were
a way to get it to take up less than 44MB including dependencies, that
would be greatly appreciated. :-) For example: Could Orpie ship only
an optimized Ocaml-to-C compiled version and nothing else? Or, could
the ocaml base packages be split up into smaller pieces? Or something
else? If this is not practical, please disregard this request.
Demonstration of disk space usage follows. Note: The 44.3MB total does
not include the 11.5MB of temp space the .debs will take up until
reboot.
$ sudo aptitude install orpie ocaml-nox
[snip]
The following NEW packages will be installed:
ledit libgsl0 ocaml ocaml-base ocaml-base-nox ocaml-interp ocaml-nox
orpie tk8.4
Need to get 11.5MB of archives. After unpacking 44.3MB will be used.
Do you want to continue? [Y/n/?]
Regards,
Jason
Could orpie be modified to take up less disk space?

I believe this is the same bug as #644878 which was fixed in orpie
1.5.1-10 by dropping the runtime dependency on ocaml.
Thanks,
James
