Package: nagios-nrpe-plugin
Version: 3.0.1-3
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

% /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H 198.0.2.153 -c 'check_disks'
zsh: segmentation fault /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H 198.0.2.153 -c
'check_disks'

% /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H my.machine.example -c 'check_disks'
zsh: segmentation fault /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H
my.machine.example -c 'check_disks'

But if I use -4 or -6, and a host name, everything works:

% /usr/lib/nagios/plugins/check_nrpe -H my.machine.example -6 -c 'check_disks'
DISK OK - free space: / 6113 MB (32% inode=79%);| /=12973MB;16100;18113;0;20126

Great that you found a work around.

With the default config (no SSL) the segfault doesn't occur.

So it seems that your SSL configuration is part of the problem.

I still cannot reproduce the issue, so I'm closing the bugreport.

If you want to stick to NRPE instead of its alternatives, and want the
SSL support the be improved, I suggest you report this issue upstream.

Kind Regards,

Bas
