package: spamassassin
version: 3.4.0-6, 3.4.1-3 (maybe others)

1. Debian Jessie comes with no libdigest-sha1-perl package. i believe it was deprecated in favor of libdigest-sha-perl (?). while using Spamassassin it clearly state Digest::SHA1 as a requirement. see sa-update -D sample output below:

2. no libgeo-ip-perl (Geo::IP), libencode-detect-perl (Encode::Detect) or libnet-patricia-perl (Net::Patricia) are specified as suggested. do we need spamassassin to function or just stay there and look like it's fine as it is? that's all the suggestions/requirements i see when i trying to install spamassassin:

root@vs01:~# apt-get install spamassassin

so after installing the spamassassin package with all the suggestions i see something very similar to the following when i run sa-update -D:

i suggest to return libdigest-sha1-perl in any form and fixing the suggestions string for spamassassin package

Resolving this as it's not a bug. The SHA1 hash functionality is
provided by the Digest::SHA module, which is provided by the libperl
package.

Many of spamassassin's dependencies are optional, and much of its
functionality is provided by different optional modules. Reports of
missing modules in debug output should not be interpreted as bugs. If
something was actually broken, you wouldn't need to run in debug mode to
see it.
