Package: salt-minion
Version: 2016.3.2+ds-1

A default installation of salt-minion writes messages like this to
syslog:

Oct 2 19:33:02 mymachine salt-minion[1717]: [WARNING ] IMPORTANT: Do not use
md5 hashing algorithm! Please set "hash_type" to sha256 in Salt Minion config!

So one might wonder why is this just not the default for new installs.

The following github issue may be related to this:

https://github.com/saltstack/salt/issues/32460

so maybe this is already fixed upstream, but it's very annoying and it
would be very nice to see this fixed in the Debian package as well.

Thanks.

salt 2016.11.0 and newer use sha256 as default hash_type by default.
