Package: sasl2-bin
Version: 2.1.22.dfsg1-23+lenny1
Severity: normal

Hi. I'm not sure if this should be directed to libpam-pgsql or pam or
somewhere else...

I upgraded openssl on a lenny machine this morning, and the pam_pgsql
authentications stopped working via saslauthd
(postfix/smtp)

saslauthd: PAM unable to dlopen(/lib/security/pam_pgsql.so):
/usr/lib/i686/cmov/libssl.so.0.9.8: symbol
pqueue_size, version OPENSSL_0.9.8 not defined in file libcrypto.so.0.9.8 with
link time reference
saslauthd: PAM adding faulty module: /lib/security/pam_pgsql.so

Restarting saslauthd fixed it.

I don't know if there is a way to have an automatic restart, or at least a
notification so I'll remember next time.

Thanks.

not sure what was updated that caused this…

In package debian-goodies, there is checkrestart. This might help.
