to be marked as done.

Package: apcupsd
Version: 3.14.8-2
Severity: wishlist

It would be very nice if I could specify the serial line
speed in apcupsd.conf, next to the serial line. My shiny
new APC UPSes (Smart-UPS RT 5000 XL) run 9600bd 8N1 instead
of the documented 2400bd on their serial interfaces, AFAICS.

Using minicom on 9600bd I can login into the UPS, but APC
doesn't allow to change the speed in their config menus,
either.

The current apcupsd cannot connect via serial line. It just
writes
PANIC! Cannot communicate with UPS via serial port.

into its logfile.

Harri

I don't use apcupsd anymore. We have connected all UPS to

ok, so I will close the bug for now and wait whether somebody else does encounter the problem again.

Thanks!
