Package: tix8.1
Version: 8.1.4-7

We have an application using tix that hangs when we click on the exit menu
item. Stripping out almost all the other code the problem still happened.

The tix8.1-dev package contains example code

/usr/share/doc/tix8.1/examples/tixwidgets.tcl

when I run this and select exit from the menu it also hangs.

This happens on a fresh testing install and on unstable on more than one
machine here.

It appears it has something to do with sockets still being open when the
exit is called in the code. The interaction between the tix shell and the tk
library or something could cause this. The wish sehll when running tk
applicaitons does not hang on exit.

Looking at tk8.4 bugs it may have something to do with

http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=265402
Tk aborts on exit when talking to X through PF_UNIX socket

Thanks

        See You
            Steve

Hello,

the file tixwidgets.tcl exists no longer in the newest package. Hence, I
consider to close this bug report.
