Please package the new upstream release so xaralx can enter debian.

Well, let's see... I've just been talking to the person actually
doing the work to package XaraLX in the last few days, and to the
best of my knowledge:
a) It cannot be uploaded to Debian yet, parts of it are still
not free.
b) The upstream author of that project is still reporting bugs
to wx upstream that must be fixed for it to work.
c) wx 2.6.3 was tagged yesterday, so the fixes are very likely
not in it.
d) The current upstream wx is _so_ different to what we currently
have that Joachim couldn't even get them to build and approached
me for help.
This is an avenue to get some better testing for the next 2.6 branch
release we might include, but the existing apps we have working with
this one _must_ take priority. They waited long enough for a snapshot
that was stable and legal to distribute. I'm not in a hurry to snatch
that out from under them. Especially not for something that might
prove we need to just dump the 2.6 release soon and move to snapshots
from the 2.7 branch for a while...
I'm working Joachim to see what we need to do. But yet another
"please upload an untested, unstable release now" bug isn't really
helpful here -- so I'm closing this one as a housekeeping matter.
I'll be assessing the newly tagged version. But promising it will
be stable soon is very premature, if the list of bugs that XaraLX
has exposed is any indication...
Sorry,
Ron
