Since the switch to xulrunner, I have noticed Epiphany's performance
dropping in several noticeable areas:
1. On a largeish page such as <http://planet.gnome.org/>; when clicking
on a link, the click takes about 1 second to be recognised.
2. There is a delay when switching between several tabs. The delay is
variable; usually between 100 and 250 ms, though I have seen tab
switching take half a second. This is most noticeable when the
browser has been open for a while, and the user has one or more tabs
that contain two large pages. Right now I have Planet Gnome,
Slashdot and a few Debian bug reports open. Switching between the
bug report pages is instant, but any other transition incurs the
delay.
3. Again on Planet Gnome, it takes almost a second for the find bar to
appear after hitting C-F or forward-slash. Likewise, after
hitting escape, it takes almost a second for the bar to be
dismissed.
4. Closing tabs can also take up to a second if the tab contains a
large page.
