Package: src:xen
Version: 4.11~

This is about the patch collection in debian/patches/prefix-abiname.

## Why are we doing this?

The changes make it possible to install multiple xen versions (e.g 4.10
and 4.11) at the same time on a debian system. The scripts for executing
the xl (or, xen,) command figure out which version of the Xen hypervisor
is running, and then select the toolstack libraries with the same version.

This provides a smoother upgrade experience for the "small deployment"
scenario with a single dom0 where the administrator might not want to
have to shut down all domUs while upgrading the dom0, but just shut them
down just before the reboot.

Also, it allows related packages like qemu to build against a specific
version, and depend on e.g. libxen-4.8 explicitely.

Upstream is also thinking a bit about this issue, see
https://xenproject.atlassian.net/browse/XEN-114

So, put it in the bts so we have a place to add updated info or ideas
and track the relevant parts for Debian.

This issue can be closed. Ian did a big refactoring of the packaging,
which solves it and made it possible to drop all of the patches.
