Package: barcode
Version: 0.98+debian-9.1
Severity: important
X-Debbugs-CC: [email protected] [email protected]

Dear all,

I noticed that package barcode in Debian is not in good state. According to
Debian's Developer's Reference §5.12, I intent to start the ITS process [1]
for package barcode to fix its bugs and improve its maintenance status.

The current maintainer for barcode is Matti Pöllä <[email protected]>. Since he only
maintains one package in Debian (which is barcode itself) and hasn't made any
maintainer upload in the past 7 years, I am also informing Debian QA/MIA Team
about the issue.

According to the ITS process, I will wait for others' reply and comments and
prepare a new NMU after 2018-10-23 if no one objects the ITS. The new NMU will
be uploaded onto DELAYED/7. Meanwhile, the original maintainer can always send
a (signed) email response at any time to halt this process.

Thank you very much and I sincerely hope that we could work together to
improve the overall package quality in Debian archive.

Best Regards,
Boyuan Yang
