Package: wireshark
Version: 2.6.4-1
Severity: normal
File: /usr/bin/mmdbresolve

Dear Maintainer,
the wireshark debian package has lost the ability to do GeoIP lookups
with the introduction of geoip2/maxmind_db. The mmdb-transition
seems to have happened in 2.6.1, for the deb package
(commit # 80f80db5071).
The reason for this is the missing mmdbresolve binary, which is not
being included in the package.
This means, even though Wireshark announces "with MaxMind DB resolver"
support for GeoIP in an About dialog, geoip being enabled for the protocol,
and wireshark having all the right geoip-file include directories set,
in reality, with the missing binary, support for $feature does not exist
(and wireshark does not care to notify the user of this).
For this reason, tracking down the issue has been a sad affair in #debian,
and I'd like to suggest, aside from the debian package bug fix, that
Wireshark should try to find it's own dang behin^Wproxy binary before
announcing said mmdb support in future :)
Thanks.

* Build and install mmdbresolve to make GeoIP-lookup work.
(adds dependency on libmaxminddb) (Closes: #911567)

[ Gregor Jasny ]
* debian: libwireshark-dev must depend on libwiretap-dev
because wireshark/epan/packet_info.h (libwireshark-dev)
depends on wireshark/wiretap/wtap.h (libwiretap-dev)
(LP: #1801666)

[ Balint Reczey ]
* Ship man page for mmdbresolve
* debian/tests/gui: Redirect stderr to stdout because Lua prints to stderr
making the test fail
