Dear Maintainer,

please generate example files with consistent extension, either .ex or
.EX, not both. See content of `debian/' directory, just generated with
dh_make:

        build-alternative.cron.d.ex
        build-alternative.doc-base.EX
        build-alternative-docs.docs
        changelog
        compat
        control
        copyright
        manpage.1.ex
        manpage.sgml.ex
        manpage.xml.ex
        menu.ex
        postinst.ex
        postrm.ex
        preinst.ex
        prerm.ex
        README.Debian
        README.source
        rules
        source
        watch.ex

Hi,
  The difference is intentional.

Unfortunately some tool that processes that file thinks .ex is a valid
extension ( a country code IIRC ) so it has to be .EX
