Dear Maintainer,
most packages I build using libmxsqlclient use the mysql_client script to
find configuration. I would have expected libmariadbclient-dev-compat to
have provided this script (e.g. as a link to mariadb_config), but it's
not.
This might not be a bug at all, but I have not yet found where debian
gnu/linux provides a suitable mysql_config file for use with libmariadb in
compatibiluty mode, so maybe this is an oversight. If not, feel free to
simply close this bug.

Hm... indeed, sorry for thinking this was missing and wasting
your time then - I guess I was confused by the multitude of
lib{mariadb|mysql][client]* packages then, and this can be closed.
