Package: gnome-desktop-environment
Version: testing
Severity: important

Was using gdm3, gnome and gnome-desktop-environment to get a better usability.
A few days back, after keeping the computer idle for some time. it was a bit
difficult to get the computer to unlock. finally I just went on to another
terminal and came back to the gnome gui. this lets me to log in, however after
logging in I realised that I cannot see any of the desktop icons and someof the
windows

Though, this showed in my workspace switcher. I realised that the workspace
switcher was wider than ususal & tinkering around I found that the left hand
side of my screen was of my laptop screen. I somehow managed to bring the
windows back by either closing and reopening the application or using move
window option.

I also found out that the Monitors preference option in the preferences menu in
system menu on the task bar had 2 onitors as mirrors. As soon as I disabled one
of the monitors there, the screen became normal. Doing this I thought my
problem was solved. However, the problem recurred and both the monitors had
been enabled.

I have now moved back to gdm, to avoid this.

My system configuration are:
I have a laptop from Compaq model F733AU with AMD Athlon X2 processor with 1GB
ram and NVIDIA on board graphics card.

The meta-package gnome-desktop-environment doesn't exist in Debian, so
your report is currently not even visible to the Gnome Maintainers.

Being also very old it might have been fixed in the meantime, so I am
closing it with this message.

In case the issue is present in current Gnome version in Debian please
contact one of Debian's support channels for assistance in
trouble-shooting and, if necessary, reporting the issue against a
current package.

Kind regards,
Andrei
