Kdenlive 18.12 which ships with buster works correctly; 3. if “install-recommends” is enabled, libkf5newstuffcore5 causes qml-module-org-kde-newstuff installation, which in turn pulls the dependencies that I’ve listed above (libkf5newstuffcore5 _recommends_ qml-module-org-kde-newstuff) and Kdenlive works correctly.
