First of all big thanks this tool to both upstream and the maintainer.
It is one of the tools, that just works without having to specify
megabytes of configuration. Unfortunately I hit an aspect that doesn't
just work.
Consider the following two images obtained from a Canon camera.
imagemagick's identify:

Now the second image is correctly displayed as landscape by geeqie, but
photon determines the aspect ration based on the resolution and wrongly
thinks that this image was seascape. The gimp scaler then considers the
image as landscape again, but shrinks it to the requested seascape
reduced resolution. The last step effectively breaks the aspect ratio of
the scaled images.
If you happen to know a workaround, please let me know.
