Changing all the 'modprobe' calls to '/sbin/modprobe' fixes the problem. (I've tested this with /bin/bash as /bin/sh - works as well of course then.) All other files in /etc/modprobe.d/ seem to use '/sbin/modprobe' and not 'modprobe'. If there is no specific reason why 'modprobe' is used instead of '/sbin/modprobe' in alsa-base please consider changing this as it fixes a very annoying (and not-easy-to-debug) problem with zsh. regards, -mika-
