A string variable is cropped after 100-or-so bytes in the namespace
pane. This is probably a feature. However, I cannot inspect the
value beyond the crop.
I wish I could just type 'print var' at the console prompt, but
apparently there is no way to execute python commands...
I can double click to set a new value, but I cannot view the old
value. The edit dialog should really be prefilled with the old
value.
