Package: gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons
Version: 19.01.1-1
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

after installation, the desktop shows all files in the home directory.

The wish is that it shows the files and directories in the "Schreibtisch"
("Desktop") directory instead.

This is the purpose of the "Schreibtisch" directory.

Closing the bug, then. I'm guessing you (or the xdg-user-dirs package)
had configured ~/.config/user-dirs.dirs and ~/.config/user-dirs.locale
with settings that were not the ones you intended.

This extension is intended to show the XDG_DESKTOP_DIR configured in
~/.config/user-dirs.dirs, whatever that happens to be. I think the home
directory is the fallback if there is no XDG_DESKTOP_DIR set.
