Package: qemu-user-static
Version: 1:2.8+dfsg-6+deb9u4
Severity: important
File: /usr/sbin/qemu-debootstrap

Dear Maintainer,

When running qemu-debootstrap, the second stage that is executed inside the
chroot fails
to find the debian keyring.

I: Running command: chroot /root/tmp.OExV1NB4v1 /debootstrap/debootstrap
--second-stage
I: Keyring file not available at
/usr/share/keyrings/debian-archive-keyring.gpg; switching to https mirror
https://deb.debian.org/debian

This issue persists even if the keyring is provided with the --keyring
debootstrap flag
and/or if debian-archive-keyring is added to the list of includes.

Should there be a way to ensure that the second stage uses the gpg keyring?

This _might_ be due to some emulation failure on the qemu
side, after which either gpg can't open the file, or some
other utility, or something (like failure to emulate a
relatively new openat() syscall or something like that) -
it's just my guess anyway. The real thing is that since
that version of qemu, lots has been changed in qemu-user
emulation, and most likely this problem has been fixed
long time ago too. I'm closing this bugreport now. If
you think the issue is still relevant with current version,
please reopen this bugreport.

Thanks,

/mjt
