Package: ncal
Version: 12.1.3
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

I’ve packaged (some time ago already) cal(1) from OpenBSD, because
it/its documentation guarantees a flag to get German calendar weeks
(KWs) as “kwal” (specifically for that).

While I’ve not (yet) uploaded this to Debian itself, kwal could
also provide cal(1) as ncal is available separately and these two
packages could handle this using alternatives.

Both their command line options and feature set differs. Check
http://www.mirbsd.org/~tg/Debs/dists/sid/wtf/Pkgs/kwal/ if you’re
interested.

With the latest upload ncal should be able to correctly display week
numbers and also offers a manual override for the information provided
by the locale. Therefore I don't see the need for a tool that only
provides a subset of what ncal does. If you still see different
behavior please report it here.

Thanks,

Michael
