Severity: normal
All gtk application have UIM as default input method. This prevents
input of european languages, f.e. german umlauts. To input german
umlauts the input method has to be changed, which is not possible in
some applications.
Please restrict uim being standart input to some locales, like
jp,zh,ko,vi
A method to do this is to manual edit the /etc/gtk2.0/gtk.immodules
file, and change the uim entry to:
"/usr/lib/gtk-2.0/2.2.0/immodules/im-uim.so"
"uim-default" "uim-default" "gtk+" "" ""
But this isn't the best solution, because the file is autocreated.

Hi,
This is very very old bug with Omote-san 's message of bug being fixed.
Since no one complained even for stable version, and code around patch
are changed a lot, I am closing this.
