Package: scim
Version: 1.2.2-0+SVN3
Severity: wishlist

Hello,

Please add im-switch support for scim. It's a modern and easy way to
select input method (platform).

BTW, I think you should upload scim 1.3 or later version to unstable
ASAP. Is there any obstacle?

Thanks.

reopen 349397
reassign 349397 im-switch
retitle 349397 GTK_IM_MODULE={xim|scim} ? etc... design issues
thanks

My upload of scim put support to im-switch. So I will close related
bugs with -done mail.

But since what shoud be the default is still open question, I will
revibe 349397 and reassign it to im-switch with new title.

The original bug is closed but there are interesting discussion on how
im-switch should behave.

FYI:

Right now GTK_IM_MODULE=xim as default for SCIM.
Right now GTK_IM_MODULE=uim as default for UIM.

ii scim 1.4.4-2 smart common input method platform

Unless there is compelling argument to use GTK_IM_MODULE=scim, I will
keep it as is. Please follow discussion #349397
