package: libpam0g
version: 1.4.0-1
severity: important
In the merge of upstream 1.4.0, we lost the ability to read
/lib//security and only support /lib/security/multiarch_path.
Steve says that this was not an intentional change; it appears to be a
regression that affects software both inside and outside Debian.
I think software inside Debian that doesn't use multiarch paths for PAM
modules is buggy because it breaks non-native arch applications that use
libpam.
Even so, it is desirable to fix.
See bug 990412 for more details; I'm apparently not good enough at using
the BTS to manage to clone a merged bug.

* Reword changelog
* Prefer the multiarch path (_PAM_ISA) to the non-multiarch path.
That's different than buster, but guarantees everything already
working in bullseye will continue to work and also guarantees that
when multiarch modules are available we use them.
