Package: detox

Severity: important

This bug was privately reported by Doug Harple, upstream of the detox. The
initial report was made by an user in GitHub[1].

[1] https://github.com/dharple/detox/issues/81

This bug was fixed in detox/1.4.4, already in Debian.

The original bug:

Title: Value too large for defined data type

  In my raspberry

  armv7l
  Distributor ID: Raspbian
  Description: Raspbian GNU/Linux 10 (buster)
  Release: 10
  Codename: buster

For bigger files than 4Go, i obtain the error
"Value too large for defined data type"
With classic "mv" command, i can rename the file.

  For smaller files, no problem.

Perhaps an idea in this link
  https://kodlogs.com/177607/value-too-large-for-defined-data-type ?

  I use the 1.3.0 version

The reply from upstream:

OK. So, the problem occurs on raspbian with the package available from apt.

I tried it with detox v1.4.3 and v2.0.0-beta1 on raspbian 10 on armv7l, same
  problem.

I tried it with detox v1.4.3 and v2.0.0-beta1 on ubuntu 20.04 on x86_64, and
  it works.

I tried it with detox v1.4.3 and v2.0.0-beta1 on debian 10 on x86_64, and it
  works.

The problem is specific to raspbian 10 and/or the armv7l chipset. The link
  above provides this link:

https://www.gnu.org/software/coreutils/faq/coreutils-faq.html#Value-too-large-for-defined-data-type

Which says autoconf can be configured to fix this.

The reply from user after the fix:

  Thanks! I have tested, with
  https://github.com/dharple/detox#install-stable-from-repository, and it's
ok now :) Very quick correction, thank you very much!

Eriberto
