Package: xfstt
Version: 1.1

I am running xfstt on a potato system. This machine is the font server
for many Debian potato systems. Here is part of an entry from a common
XF86Config file for a client machine:

    FontPath "tcp/fonter:7101"
    FontPath "tcp/fonter:7100"
    FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/:unscaled"
# FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/cyrillic/:unscaled"
# FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/:unscaled"
    FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/:unscaled"
    FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Speedo/"
    FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/Type1/"
    FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/misc/"
# FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/cyrillic/"
# FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/100dpi/"
    FontPath "/usr/X11R6/lib/X11/fonts/75dpi/"

fonter is a cname for the actual machine. On the font server, I have xfs
and xfstt running. These processes (both xfs and xfstt) seem to keep
forking more and more copies of themselves. The font server has been up
for 12 days.

 ps -aux | grep xfs | grep -v xfstt | wc -l

reports 53 instances of xfs .

ps -aux | grep xfstt | wc -l

reports 91 instances of xfstt, 55 of which have gone to swap. The swap
files total 788M, 139M of which is in use. If this pattern continues,
this will crash my machine in a few weeks. Short of rebooting the machine
or stopping and restarting xfs and xfstt regularly, is there any fix for
this? Is this normal behavior?

uname -a reports:

Linux baley 2.2.17 #1 Sun Jun 25 09:24:41 EST 2000 i586 unknown

                                Thank you,
