Package: nautilus
Version: 2.12.2-2
Severity: important

Hello,

When browsing my /usr/share/doc directory with nautilus, it blocks the
execution of gedit or file-roller.

I reproduce this bug in my system following these steps:

1. Open console

2. Open nautilus, and consecutively do:
2.1. Select my filesystem icon in left pane tree
2.2. Enter (double click) /usr in right pane directory list
2.3. Enter (double click) /usr/share in right pane directory list
(wait for the new list to be filled)
2.4. Enter (double click) /usr/share/doc in right pane directoy list
(wait for the new list to be filled)

3. In console, run "gedit": it gets blocked

A note (for the case it may help?):
I open system monitor, view the open files by blocked gedit, and it
has an open connection against localhost.localdomain:858

4. Kill it with ctrl+c

5. Select /bin in nautilus' left pane tree

6. In console, run "gedit": it opens correctly

7. select /usr/share/doc again in nautilus' left pane tree
(wait for the new list in right pane to be filled)

8. In console, run "gedit": it gets blocked again

In fact, in 8. we repeat the problem of 3. with exactly the same
   properties.

9. Kill it with ctrl+c

9. Close nautilus

10. In console, run "gedit": it opens correctly

Perhaps nautilus blocks some files / pipes / sockets when browsing
large directories??

My /usr/share dir. contains 249 elements, and my /usr/share/doc
directory contains 1004 elements (which in turn may contain about
6 - 7 elements - average).

I have found this behaviour when trying to open some package
documents or gzipped files, and it is quite annoying as you can
understand.

I'm using linux-image-2.6.15-1-686, on my debian testing system,
and an ext3 filesystem.

I can reproduce this behaviour both in my Pentium 4
(1.8 Mhz - 768 MB ram) desktop computer and in my Pentium M
(1.4 Mhz - 512 MB ram) laptop. Both systems have similar
configuration.
