The closest replacement is gnome-shell-extension-desktop-icons-ng, but a transitional package would not be useful here, because each extension needs to be enabled separately on a per-user basis (behind the scenes, GNOME Shell configuration has a list of enabled extension UUIDs), meaning that users of g-s-e-desktop-icons need manual action to switch to g-s-e-desktop-icons-ng in any case.
