Hi,
bug #985891 was forwarded upstream[1] but there is no sensible solution
to get it working with recent matplotlib. It does not sound sensible to
package a Python module that brings back legacy stuff just to rescue
dicompyler which is not maintained actively any more (the repository is
archived by the owner).
Thus its time to remove this package from Debian,
