Package: perl
Version: 5.8.2-2
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

dpkg-buildpackage: source package is dmake
perl: warning: Setting locale failed.
perl: warning: Please check that your locale settings:
        LANGUAGE = (unset),
        LC_ALL = (unset),
        LANG = "de_DE@euro"
    are supported and installed on your system.

is _extremely_ annoying. Everytime I build something in a chroot via
sbuild (which is a clean chroot; so no locales are installed there)
and I forget to set LANG="C" this message obfuscates everything...

PLEASE patch it out..

Yeah. FWIW it looks like https://bugs.debian.org/287672 fixed sbuild,
which was Rene's original use case. So I suppose there's indeed not much
point keeping this open anymore. Closing.

( BTW bash complains about missing locales too nowadays, not sure if it
  did back then. )
