It seems that tigervncserver creates differen PID/log file names, depending on whether it's listening on inet or unix sockets: For UNIX sockets it uses: kronecker.scientia.org:1.{log,pid} with 1 being the display ID For inet sockets: kronecker.scientia.org:5901.{log,pid} with 5091 being the port.
