The attached message contains, among other things, a request for cruft
to check which users were orphaned by purged packages.

We might also want it to check groups... Aything else?

My main problem with running cruft is if I want to check just
/var/mail, I have to check the whole /var tree...

Anyway, aside from /nonexistent, cruft should check for users
remaining after purge. E.g., my /etc/passwd has

lp news uucp backup operator list irc gnats messagebus saned dspam
aptproxy cupsys

some of which I bet are from removed packages.

The current consensus now would be that once a user has been created,
it can not be deleted later on for security reason.

So I'm closing this here.
