Package: ledger
Severity: wishlist
Version 3.3.0 was released recently.
I understand Debian is going through a freeze soon, but speaking as
someone involved in ledger upstream, I'd strongly recommend 3.3.0 to
be part of the upcoming Debian release.
While 3.3.0 introduces a number of new features, the majority of
changes are bug fixes (made in the last 2+ years!). Nothing depends
on ledger, so breakage would be minimal; if any regressions are
introduced, we can fix them with minor updates.
Some bugs that were fixed or improvements made in 3.3.0:
- Improved Python 3 support
- Improved the way --depth behaves
- Fixed $PAGER
- Sort files included with !include
- Fix parsing of files without end of line
- Fix incorrect parsing of expressions containing a `-` without spaces
- Fix ledger interpreting a posting with 0 difference as a null-posting,
which leads to it auto-balancing the posting
... and more
