Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

   * What led up to the situation?

Performing software update from KDE.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

Start installing updates. I already did the same some days ago *without*
restarting my desktop session or all my services - some where restarted
I guess.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

The update process is stalled now at
> Aufgaben (95%)
> Aktualisieren - Wird installiert

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

The KDE dialog should close after all updates have been installed.

Or it should show an input dialog where I can see the output of "needrestart"
and control it. Why is it reading from "/dev/pts/7" at all? Maybe </dev/null ?

Hi!

Thank you for the issue report! This problem should have been fixed
with the backend rework in 1.2.6, which removed a few possible
deadlocks, and also prevents a daemon crash if PackageKit updates
itself.
Please file a new bug in case you experience this again and it isn't
resolved with the latest PK package!

Cheers,
    Matthias
