On a fresh install of squeeze (not an upgrade), enabling a keyboard shortcut
to start an application using the application menu editor does not enable the
KMenuEdit Global shortcuts in the ~/.kde/share/config/khotkeysrc, and hence
none of the keyboard shortcuts registered by the menu editor actually work.

src:kde-workspace was last released with Debian 8 (jessie) in April 2015
and was removed from the Debian archive afterwards.
It has been superseded by Plasma 5.
