I have a Towitoko Chipdrive Extern 330 USB reader, I plug it in and
get the following in my logs:
Nov 11 12:52:01 localhost kernel: hub.c: USB new device connect on bus2/1,
assigned device number 2
Nov 11 12:52:01 localhost kernel: usb.c: USB device 2 (vend/prod 0x67b/0x2303)
is not claimed by any active driver.
Nov 11 12:52:01 localhost pcscd: readerfactory.c:1319 RFInitializeReader:
Attempting startup of Towitoko Chipdrive USB 0 0.
Nov 11 12:52:01 localhost pcscd: readerfactory.c:1061 RFBindFunctions: Loading

Nov 11 12:52:01 localhost pcscd: readerfactory.c:1356 RFInitializeReader: Open

Nov 11 12:52:01 localhost pcscd: readerfactory.c:220 RFAddReader: Towitoko

Nov 11 12:52:04 localhost /etc/hotplug/usb.agent: Setup pl2303 for USB product

Nov 11 12:52:04 localhost kernel: usb.c: registered new driver serial

for Generic
Nov 11 12:52:04 localhost kernel: usbserial.c: USB Serial Driver core v1.4
Nov 11 12:52:04 localhost kernel: usbserial.c: USB Serial support registered
for PL-2303
Nov 11 12:52:04 localhost kernel: usbserial.c: PL-2303 converter detected
Nov 11 12:52:04 localhost kernel: usbserial.c: PL-2303 converter now attached
to ttyUSB0 (or usb/tts/0 for devfs)
Nov 11 12:52:04 localhost kernel: pl2303.c: Prolific PL2303 USB to serial
adaptor driver v0.9
Note that the PCSC driver failed to init the reader, and the USB bus
decided the reader was in fact a serial converter. I have no problem
with the latter (we have encountered lots of USB readers which are
actually serial readers with a USB adapter) but PC/SC failing to init
the reader is not a good thing.
Attempting to run pcsc_scan anyway:

The expected results really.
