Package: zsnes
Version: 1.510+bz2-3
Severity: wishlist

Hi,

please consider packaging an SVN snapshot of ZSNES that is a bit more recent
than the latest release tarball. This would obsolete some patches and bring the
Debian package back at least on par with the Ubuntu one, which has a rather
random single patch applied on top of the released source.

While the development of ZSNES took place here
<https://zsnes.bountysource.com/svn> for quite some time, it seems to have
stalled at revision r5224 and moved to <http://cia.vc/stats/project/zsnes>,
where the latest commit is r5305 from about 1,5 years ago. However, according
to the comments on <http://www.emucr.com/2010/12/zsnes-svn-r5305.html>, sound
has been deliberately broken in the latest SVN revisions and according to this
comment <http://www.emucr.com/2010/12/zsnes-
svn-r5305.html?showComment=1292949441344#c4475626638352871074> the last SVN
revision with working sound is r4538. Checking out
<https://zsnes.bountysource.com/svn/!revision/4538> reveals that this was the
revision when they internally increased the version number to 1.52.

I would thus suggest to package SVN r4538 for Debian, but -- since no official
tarball has been released yet -- still call the version "1.52~svn4538".
