Package: postfix
Version: 3.7.5-2
Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer,
Tools such has openmediavault relies on "postfix set-permissions"
working.
But since Debian postfix salsa commit
https://salsa.debian.org/prahal/postfix-dev/-/commit/cdce604abf0284e329bc32161757319834a6cee3
postfix set-permissions is broken as the man pages and readme files
listed in /etc/postfix/postfix-files do not exists (they list
<manpage>.<number> while debian compress them and add the gz extension
to these files.
For one this files list mail.1 while only mail.1.gz exists.
$ sudo postfix set-permissions
postfix: Postfix is using backwards-compatible default settings
postfix: See http://www.postfix.org/COMPATIBILITY_README.html for details
postfix: To disable backwards compatibility use "postconf
compatibility_level=3.6" and "postfix reload"
chown: cannot access '/usr/share/man/man1/mailq.1': No such file or directory
The above commit removed the renaming of this manpages and readme files
in /etc/postfix/postfix-files to gz files. There are other changes in
this commit that are unrelated to this issue.
No ratioanle was given for the removal of 05_debian_manpage_differences.diff
and 05_debian_readme_differences.diff
out that they are deleted "at least for now".
Note that postfix-pcre is also affected
cat /etc/postfix/postfix-files.d/pcre.files
(...)
$manpage_directory/man5/pcre_table.5:f:root:-:644
while only /usr/share/man/man5/pcre_table.5.gz is available.
This is also handled by the 05_debian_manpage_differences.diff
Cheers,
Alban
