The postinstall script hangs at executing: /usr/bin/python /usr/sbin/gconf-schemas --register-all --no-signal The process seems to be reading some file descriptor, strace only repeats: read(5, "", 16) = 0 read(5, "", 16) = 0 read(5, "", 16) = 0 The standard output/error does not show any problems: Setting up gconf2 (2.28.1-6) ... update-alternatives: using /usr/bin/gconftool-2 to provide /usr/bin/gconftool (gconftool) in auto mode.
