Package: po4a
Version: 0.37.1-1
Severity: wishlist
Hi all,
I am using the great po4a package and I would like to propose a little change
in the Xhtml package.
The <span> tag should not be an inline tag since it is used to break the line
into smaller pieces which should have an independent treatment, especially
for translations. Here is an example:
<span>Last update:</span> <span>September 10, 2009</span> <span>by pkz</span>
In this line of xhtml the only translation that should be updated each time
the page is changed is the date (the second span object), while the first and
the last piece should not be changed.
At present, if the page is changed, the whole line with the three span objects
should be re-translated completely.
Thanks in advance
Patrick

Hello,
this bug was opened back in 2010 and got no feedback after the initial answer
of the maintainer. You said that <span> tag should not be an inline tag, but
it's not a clear thing. Moreover, this can easily be configured through the
module options.
Thus closing, but do not hesitate to reopen if you disagree.
Thanks,
Mt
