sqlrelay.preinst greps /etc/group and /etc/passwd for the just created
entities. This is probably only for informational purposes, but is
bound to fail on NIS, LDAP or similar systems that do not use
/etc/group and /etc/passwd.

no, that's a non-issue. adduser and addgroup only work on local files.
