Dear Maintainer,

LLVM upstream added support for HIP in /usr, but it incorrectly reports
HIP as being installed in /usr/local [1]. I have not verified whether
this bug affects Debian or not, so it's possible that the Debian package has
additional patches that mitigate the issue. However, you may still want to
consider backporting the upstream fix [2].

Filing as severity wishlist until I verify that this bug affects the Debian
package. For now, it might just be nice to backport to match the upstream
search behaviour.

Sincerely,
Cory Bloor

I've now packaged rocm-hipamd 5.6.1-1~exp1 and can test with clang-17.

It seems that Debian is not affected by this bug. When building with `clang-17 -v`, it correctly reports the detected HIP directory as /usr. Sorry for the noise.

Sincerely,
Cory Bloor
