Bird's init.d script checks for /proc/ksyms, however this is not exist
on a 2.6 kernel.
Commenting the check out bird starts successfully.
Tested with Debian sarge, kernel 2.6.5.

Looks like somebody fixed it along the way... It's certainly not
present in last version (-8).
