Severity: wishlist
Backports is expected to track the version in testing. But at the
moment, it is unfortunately from an older version. It would be nice to
have an upload to bookworm-backports which updates it to the "same"
version. If there are any blockers then it would also be nice to just
hear about them.
(btw. thanks for all the work. I just got curious and took this as an
opportunity to create this ticket to track the state).

Let's close this issue now, KiCad 8.x did enter bookworm-backports.
